TEAM demonstrate caring nature

Nightingale Hall carers receive caring support from TEAM Wearside.

Janet Meredith, Senior Care Worker at Nightingale Care Home, Richmond, has praised TEAM Wearside tutors Mark Jones and Gill Warby for their continuous guidance, support and encouragment during her time in completing an NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care and Key Skills Level 1.

Janet was a little daunted by the qualification, however, Janet was encouraged by Gill to persevere. Janet says "Gill and Mark have kept me motivated and supported me in achieving my qualifications. I have even progressed to working towards the higher level qualification-NVQ Level 3 and Key Skils Level 2.

Janet went on to say "I do not like maths and find numeracy tasks challenging. Gill however, is working with me in developing skills in this area and helps me to develop strategies and knowledge to cope. This has boosted my confidence in my own ability in using numeracy in everyday tasks. Gill Warby, Skills for Life tutor, TEAM Wearside comments "Janet should be very proud of her achievements in Key Skills. Janet is an inspiration to other learners who may be apprehensive or fearful of Numeracy or Mathematics. Janet has been a pleasure to teach and I am delighted she has progressed onto NVQ Level 3 and Key Skills Level 2.

Stephanie Fairlamb has worked as a care assistant along side Janet has also completed her Level 2 in Health and Social Care and Key Skills has embarked on the Level 3 qualification saying "These qualifications are an excellent entry route to the university course in nurse training, but have also played a massive part in developing my self confidence in carrying out my duties in the workplace. I have found the learning process to be really good, meeting my needs and aspirations and I receive brilliant support from Mark and Gill.''
