TEAM Wearside were pleased to host the third TEAM Awards on Thursday 21st May 2009 at The Argent Centre, Sunderland. The evening was a great success and showcased the achievements of young people, adults and local companies who have participated in TEAM training programmes.  Representatives were in attendance from Connexions, the Learning and Skills Council and local businesses, all of whom recognise the commitment shown by the learners and support the work of TEAM Wearside.

Newsflash 2

Giving Something Back!

TEAM Wearside were asked to support two local recruitment agencies in their bid to collect Easter Eggs for the Children’s Ward at the RVI Hospital in Newcastle and Ward 63 at the Sunderland Royal Hospital.

Overall a staggering number of Easter Eggs were collected by a group of local companies.  TEAM staff and Learners took this on as a project and were able to donate a fantastic total of 40 Easter Eggs!

Learners and staff within the Entry to Employment programme worked very hard to organise the project from start to finish including raising cash, designing posters, deciding where to buy them to get the best value for money and going to purchase them.

The Learners enjoyed being involved in this project and TEAM will be looking to carry out similar projects at various times throughout the year, including Christmas.

I’m sure all of the children enjoyed the Easter Eggs and we hope it helped to cheer them up during their stay in hospital.

Thank you and well done to all of those involved.
