QCF update
From January 2011 all accredited vocational qualifications will be on the Qualifications and Credit Framework. The Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) is a new way of recognising achievement through the award of credits for units and qualifications. It provides flexible routes to gaining full qualifications, and enables qualifications to be achieved in smaller steps. We offer the new QCF in Retail Skills Level 2 and Level 3 and ICT Level 2 and Level 3. The transition of NVQ's (National Vocational Qualifications) in Business Administration, Health and Social Care, Hospitality and Customer Service are due to change September 2010.

TEAM Strikes Gold
TEAM Wearside recently attended a ceremony to recognise our achievements for the quality of our delivery. The Sunderland 14-19 Partnership awarded TEAM Wearside with a Gold 14-19 Quality Mark. The purpose of the award was to demonstrate how effective TEAM Wearside's systems are with regard to quality. It measured how learners are progressed, supported throughout their programme, obtaining and reviewing stakeholder feedback and how TEAM integrate within the wider context of Sunderland. TEAM Wearside's Executive Manager, Paula Bolan stated "This is a significant award for TEAM Wearside. It demonstrates our commitment to continually improve our delivery, but fundamentally supporting Sunderland's wider strategy to provide the best provision for young learners''
