Willi`s Café have worked together with TEAM Wearside for the past year, in that time Richard Dwyer (Assessor) has successfully completed three of my staff in Professional Cookery and Hospitality Multi Skilled to a Level Two standard. We have found this useful, as the standard of food production and service has improved due to the training provided. The Train 2 Gain program has also boosted the confidence of my staff when completing their qualifications, it has been a good team building exercise and has encouraged my staff to work together to support each other to complete their work. Richard has also helped to resolve health and safety issues we had in the café and helped to support the management team in making reasonable adjustments for a member of staff with mobility issues''. When we had a staff vacancy, Richard recommended Pauline for the position here at Willis’s, as she had completed her NVQ in Food and Drink Service with him whilst working at North Shields. We were initially impressed with her attitude and willingness to work as part of the team and with Richard’s support she has become an important member of our small, but well trained team.”
Christine Jones-Manager, Willi's Cafe

“I am really pleased that we have been able to get the opportunity to participate in the programme. I have been looking around for a Level 3 course that would develop my skills for the last two years, so when Diane from TEAM contacted me and told me about the free training I nearly took her hand off!”
Sue Dixon, Retail Manager, Barnardos, Sunderland.

“We at Ethel Austin have had great success with students from TEAM Wearside. At the moment we have employed three girls who have successfully completed their Retail Apprenticeship in partnership with TEAM Wearside and Ethel Austin’s. We put our and the girls success down to working with a great company and in a lovely working environment. We give the students full practical training and involve them in all aspects of the job.”
Tracey Dickenson. Deputy Manager. Ethel Austin, Sunderland.
“If we want to remain competitive in the face of competition from the big chain stores then we have to do it through exceptional customer service and product knowledge. That is what this training is all about”
